The Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) is responsible for improving supplier performance, operational supplier governance, and cross-functional supplier coordination across the supply chain organization. This role partners closely with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, and Program teams to improve supplier reliability, reduce operational disruptions, and strengthen long-term supplier performance.

The SRM role focuses on supplier operational maturity through performance metrics, supplier governance, escalation management, strategic supplier development, and process standardization. This position serves as the primary owner of supplier performance visibility and continuous improvement initiatives across the supplier base.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and KPI reporting, including OTD, PPV, lead time adherence, quality performance, and responsiveness
  • Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and corrective action follow-up
  • Partner with Supplier Quality and Engineering teams on recurring non-conformance, RMA, and supplier quality issues
  • Coordinate supplier escalations and recovery actions related to quality, delivery, shortages, and operational disruptions
  • Support supplier risk mitigation, continuity planning, and strategic supplier development initiatives
  • Develop and maintain supplier segmentation strategies to identify critical suppliers, strategic partners, and high-risk suppliers requiring additional oversight and engagement
  • Lead supplier business reviews (SBRs) with key suppliers to review performance, discuss improvement opportunities, and align long-term business objectives
  • Analyze procurement and supplier performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Establish and maintain supplier governance processes, communication standards, and operational review cadences across key suppliers
  • Support sourcing and procurement teams through supplier operational insights and performance visibility
  • Help standardize supplier identification, onboarding, and management processes across programs and sites
  • Develop executive-level supplier performance reporting and recommendations for leadership review


JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in procurement, supplier management, sourcing, supply chain operations, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience managing supplier performance metrics including OTD, quality, lead time adherence, cost performance, and supplier responsiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional supplier improvement initiatives with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working in ERP/MRP-driven manufacturing or operational environments.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in aerospace, electronics, defense, manufacturing, or regulated operational environments.
  • Experience with supplier scorecards, supplier governance programs, and supplier development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with supplier quality processes, RMAs, corrective actions, and operational recovery management.
  • Experience supporting strategic sourcing, supplier risk mitigation, and operational performance improvement initiatives.
  • APICS, ISM, Lean Six Sigma, or related supply chain/process certifications preferred.
  • Experience working across multi-site operational organizations.
  • Familiarity with ERP and analytics tools such as SAP, Acumatica, Tableau, Power BI, or similar systems.


$121,000 - $143,000 a year
