Job Summary
The Supplier Relationship Manager supports the management and continuous improvement of relationships with key and strategic suppliers across Voith Hydro's supply chain. Working under general supervision, the incumbent coordinates supplier performance monitoring activities, facilitates communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders, supports supplier development initiatives, and assists in the resolution of supplier-related delivery, quality, and capacity issues.
The role collaborates closely with Strategic Sourcing, Project Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Project Management teams to help ensure suppliers meet business requirements and project commitments. The Supplier Relationship Manager applies established supplier management practices and contributes to supplier performance improvement, risk identification, and operational excellence initiatives.
Responsibilities :
• Maintain and support supplier relationship management processes and supplier segmentation activities for key and strategic suppliers.
• Manage supplier performance monitoring activities, including delivery, quality, responsiveness, corrective actions, and capacity metrics.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain supplier scorecards, dashboards, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Facilitate supplier review meetings and monitor completion of action items resulting from performance reviews.
• Manage the implementation and follow-up of supplier improvement plans and corrective action initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance trends and identify recurring issues requiring management attention.
• Support and contribute to supplier development activities aimed at improving supplier capabilities, performance, and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Project Management teams to address supplier-related issues.
• Manage the coordination of supplier assessments and qualification activities through stakeholder engagement and documentation review.
• Identify, assess, and communicate potential supplier risks to management and relevant stakeholders.
• Manage follow-up activities related to supplier recovery actions involving delivery delays, quality concerns, or capacity constraints.
• Manage supplier onboarding activities, documentation reviews, and supplier information management processes.
• Maintain and manage records related to supplier performance, supplier action plans, and supplier development activities.
• Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier management, reporting processes, and data integrity.
• Participate in and support supplier visits and reviews, as required, to enhance supplier performance monitoring and relationship management activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Typically 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in Supplier Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, or Project Coordination.
• Experience supporting supplier performance management, supplier development, or procurement activities.
• Knowledge of supplier performance metrics, corrective action processes, and supplier relationship management practices.
• Exposure to hydroelectric, industrial manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, engineered-to-order, or capital equipment environments is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate activities across cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is considered an asset.
• Fluency in both French and English to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, both within Quebec and outside Quebec.
