Where you'll be:

This position will be based in Kinston, NC.

All about the role:

The Supplier Quality Leader will maintain a Supplier Quality program to ensure purchased parts meet specifications and processes meet requirements. Maintains receiving inspection and calibration programs. The Supplier Quality Leader will lead supplier quality and continuous improvement activities by driving PPAP process, managing approved vendors, conducting supplier audits, resolving quality issues through corrective actions and root cause analysis, monitoring supplier performance, implementing development plans, and serving as a key supplier quality representative with the flexibility to travel as business needs require.

What you'll do:
  • Partner with suppliers to identify, implement, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process capability, operational efficiency, and overall supplier performance.
  • Lead the qualification and approval of new suppliers, components, and materials through the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and customer requirements prior to production release.
  • Develop, maintain, and administer the Approved Vendor List (AVL), ensuring suppliers meet established quality, performance, and compliance standards.
  • Plan, conduct, and document supplier quality audits to evaluate compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Investigate supplier-related quality issues, nonconformances, and customer concerns; coordinate containment activities and issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) as necessary.
  • Review and assess root cause analyses and corrective action plans, including 8D reports, Poka-Yoke implementations, failure investigations, and preventive actions to ensure effective resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance through data analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present monthly supplier quality reports, including Pareto analysis and performance scorecards, while developing and executing supplier improvement and recovery plans where needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations teams to support new product launches, supplier qualification activities, and ongoing quality initiatives.
  • Drive supplier accountability by facilitating performance reviews, communicating expectations, and ensuring timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Represent the organization at supplier facilities and manufacturing sites, with the ability to travel as required, including occasional short-notice travel to support audits, investigations, product launches, and critical business needs.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Engineering or related filed preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and managing vendor containment, process sampling, and statistical quality control techniques.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC policies, procedures, tools, and training practices, with the ability to collaborate across Purchasing and Engineering teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
