About the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer role plans, develops and executes on the introduction of new products and processes. Participates in the approval of New Products for release to manufacturing / process. Solves / trouble shoots complex problems that are generated during the Manufacturing, Installation or Post Installation of the product. Team Member in maintenance and compliance of ISO9001, ISO14001 and other Integrated Management Systems standards and certifications. This position will work in full collaboration with Product Design and Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Supplier Quality Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
• Participates in product development process (PDP) and new product introduction (NPI) representing the Plasma Product Group Quality Team
• Collaborates cross functionally with the NPI team, develops product performance, reliability, durability test plans during development, Alpha and Beta phases and during the product life cycle ensure the product meets its intended design and specifications
• Collaborates cross functionally with the NPI team, develops product acceptance requirements allowing successful introduction of the product for customer acceptance and mass production stages
• Provides support in recommendations for changes in the selection and application of components and systems. Documents proposed changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability
• Establishes Product Quality Plan (PQP). Facilitates risk assessment of new product design and processes through established methods such as Design or Process FMEA / FMECA or any other methods that will render best possible outcome in risk assessment and mitigation
• Manages the product quality throughout the product life cycle
• Coordinates meetings to formulate methodologies for root cause analysis
• Implements statistical and / or other methods to isolate problems and resolve them
• Participates on cross functional teams during field excursions, drawing from expertise of others and his/her own to support failure analysis, establish root cause, implement corrective action, validate the effectiveness of the applied solutions and implementation and driving corrective actions across the manufacturing, design and supply chain. Analyzes rejected products, components / material and implements corrective actions as appropriate
• Supports Customer Account Managers on quality issues affecting customers
• Organizes, attends, presents and participates in meetings regarding product / process quality in the product development, New Product Introduction, manufacturing and design for manufacturability & test, to ensure quality deliverables, on-time and at targeted cost.
• Develops and presents reports related to product quality and process control and related field Issues utilizing available software applications and takes improvement actions on the results
• Reviews and develops supporting manufacturing documentation to ensure it contains the necessary criteria and provisions to permit effective manufacturing / assembly, inspection and testing of products and materials to meet specified requirements
• Takes corrective action on procedural, product, or process deficiencies internally and at suppliers in collaboration with Supplier Engineering
• Supports in Supplier selection processes
• Participates in maintaining compliance and certifications for Integrated Management System standards (i.e. ISO9001, ISO14001, etc)
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline and 2+ years of related experience
• Six Sigma / Quality Engineering (CQE) Certificate is highly desirable
• ISO Certified Auditor is highly desirable
• Experience in designing and executing experiments using plasma etcher and/or photo resist
• Proficient in design of experiments (DOE), semiconductor material, chemical, and metallurgical processes characterization and development
• Experience in interacting with hardware, software, and process teams, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and improving process and/or product performance.
• Knowledge of plasma dry strip technologies and integration with advanced device processing flows
• Knowledge in operation of advanced equipment involving vacuum and plasma source technologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills that clearly convey information and ideas. Ability to communicate in such a way to influence peers, management and the Executive Team, as well as communicate well and work cross-functionally in a professional manner
• Ability to use Microsoft Office software programs to a level of professional proficiency. Able to produce professional presentations and engineering reports including introductions, conclusions and recommendations.
• Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems of a complex nature quickly and independently
• Strong knowledge of Material, Fabrication and Chemistry used in design, fabrication, and production of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment
• Ability to use and navigate quality analysis software programs for the analysis of raw attribute and variable data
• Ability to use and navigate documentation control systems, PLM and MRP systems. This includes change generation, acting as a lead Quality Representative and presentation to the change control board as applicable.
• Experience in SAP strongly preferred
• Advance and broad knowledge of purchased material manufacturing processes and standards for PCBA, Metal Fabrication, Cable Assembly and other key procured materials and services including paint, powder coat, plating, anodizing, surface treatment and cleaning.
• Strong knowledge of ISO requirements and the ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards
• Advance knowledge and application of problem-solving techniques such as 8D, FMEA, cause and effect
• Strong knowledge of Statistics, SPC and Six Sigma and other quality control techniques (i.e. DFM, DFR, DFT, TCOO, etc.), and to interpret, plan and react to statistical data analysis
