About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) specializing in chemical delivery and semiconductor fluid handling components. This role will focus on managing and developing suppliers across Korea and Japan, ensuring world-class component quality, compliance with SEMI standards, and robust process controls for high-purity chemical delivery systems.

The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of components such as mass flow controllers (MFCs), valves, pressure regulators, tubing/fittings, o-rings, heaters, sensors, and ultra-high-purity (UHP) gas/chemical handling assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management
  • Own supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement for Korea- and Japan-based component suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and risk evaluations using industry standards (SEMI, ISO9001, IATF, etc.).
  • Lead 8D, SCAR, containment, and root-cause investigations for supplier-caused quality issues.
Component & Process Expertise
  • Evaluate and approve manufacturing processes for:
    • MFCs, valves, regulators, gas sticks
    • Heaters, sensors, filters, o-rings, elastomers
    • Chemical delivery assemblies and UHP components
  • Review supplier drawings, specifications, PFMEAs, control plans, and process capability data.
  • Ensure cleanliness, leak integrity, and performance per SEMI standards (e.g., SEMI F20, F57, F38, F104, etc.).
Technical Support & Collaboration
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by collaborating with R&D, design engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Provide onsite technical leadership for supplier process improvements, equipment upgrades, yield improvements, and contamination reduction.
  • Partner with internal quality, procurement, and operations teams to ensure flawless supplier execution.
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure supplier manufacturing and materials are compliant with relevant SEMI, UHP, and high-purity chemical delivery standards.
  • Lead risk mitigation activities, including PCAs, FMEAs, MSA, and process capability improvement metrics.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering within semiconductor or high-purity industries.
  • Hands-on experience with MFCs, valves, regulators, heaters, o-rings/elastomers, or UHP fluid systems.
  • Strong understanding of SEMI standards, cleanliness requirements, and contamination controls.
  • Fluent Japanese (required) and professional English.
  • Ability to travel frequently to suppliers across Korea and Japan.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with Japanese suppliers (e.g., Horiba, Fujikin, CKD, KOFLOC, Nippon Seisen, etc.).
  • Knowledge of chemical delivery modules, gas delivery systems, GC panels, or TIG-welded UHP assemblies.
  • Competence in quality tools: 8D, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, DOE, FMEA.
  • Experience with supplier development and improving process robustness/throughput.
  • Strong communication skills with cross-cultural sensitivity.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
