Recognized as the Air Force authority on operations research, providing expert guidance and advice to Air Force headquarters staff, major command (MAJCOM) activities, and/or other agencies. Duty #1 - Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time. Duty #2 - Employs scientific and analytical techniques to define, quantify, and evaluate the feasibility of assigned projects, studies or problems. Duty #3 - Reviews and evaluates study projects, proposals, and/or reports for adequacy of methodology, including the use or development of computerized models, ensuring techniques used are valid and appropriate to the problems or issue identified. Duty #4 - Serves as a consultant and Air Force level technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations. Duty #5 - Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts. Additional Position Requirements: 1. A Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited institution in operations research or mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering or a closely-related scientific discipline is highly desired. 2. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 3. Must exhibit a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology. 4. May be required to acquire and maintain a security clearance. 5.
