The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST (NH-1515-04) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC), 448 SCMW/948 SCMG/418 SCMS/GUBB on Tinker AFB in Oklahoma, OK. Job Open Date: 1 Sep 2026 Job Close Date: 9 Sep 2026 Who may apply: All U.S. Citizens The purpose of this position is to serve as a 1st level supervisor and as a senior Air Force (AF) operations research analyst and to provide expertise in initiating, applying, and planning major developmental studies. Recognized as the Air Force authority on operations research, providing expert guidance and advice to Air Force headquarters staff, major command (MAJCOM) activities, and/or other agencies. Duty #1 - Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time. Duty #2 - Employs scientific and analytical techniques to define, quantify, and evaluate the feasibility of assigned projects, studies or problems. Duty #3 - Reviews and evaluates study projects, proposals, and/or reports for adequacy of methodology, including the use or development of computerized models, ensuring techniques used are valid and appropriate to the problems or issue identified. Duty #4 - Serves as a consultant and Air Force level technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations. Duty #5 - Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts. Additional Position Requirements: 1. A Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited institution in operations research or mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering or a closely-related scientific discipline is highly desired. 2. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 3. Must exhibit a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology. 4. May be required to acquire and maintain a security clearance. 5. This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints. 4. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization, and to mentor, motivate and apprise a staff of subordinate workers. 5. Ability to recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicate information in writing in a succinct and organized manner; and produce written information, including technical material, which is appropriate for the intended audience. 6. Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques. 7. Ability to design, build, and use models and simulation techniques.
