As a 1st-level supervisor, you will direct the Network Management Section-guiding the engineers and specialists who design, implement, and sustain on-premise, cloud, and virtualized environments. - Direct Leadership & Mentorship: Take command of a dedicated technical team, actively guiding their professional development, establishing accountability, and fostering a collaborative environment. - Next-Gen Tech Landscape: Oversee a diverse technical portfolio spanning cloud operations, virtualization, storage solutions, and cutting-edge network designs. - High-Impact Operational Support: Lead the team responsible for critical Tier I/II/III helpdesk services, database management, and client services that keep our workforce connected and mission-ready. Key Responsibilities - People & Performance Leadership: Exercise direct supervisory and position management authority over subordinate personnel, planning work activities, and establishing clear performance standards. - Network & Infrastructure Oversight: Coordinate the strategic design, implementation, and sustainment of on-premise and cloud network operations, database services, and storage solutions. - Service Delivery & Support: Manage client services, virtualization platforms, and Tier I/II/III technical helpdesk support to ensure high availability and rapid issue resolution. - Continuous Tech Refresh: Guide network infrastructure modernization and hardware/software technical refreshes to keep systems secure and efficient. QUALIFICATIONS: - U.S. Citizenship - The employee is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance - May be required to travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft - May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours. - Must maintain Cyberspace Qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140, para 4.2.a.(2) - Drug testing designated position and subject to random testing for drug use Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 1. Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of cyber, IT, or IM assessment, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation as well as knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, managing cyber, IT, or IM projects and resources, monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Ability to lead and manage information systems planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance as well as ability to make decisions or recommendations that significantly impact important agency cyber, IT, or IM policies or programs. 2. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for the coordinated management of cyber, IT, or IM programs to include providing oversight of multiple projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities such as life cycle management and program governance. Ability to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services. Skill in applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems. 3. Knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or alternative technologies or approaches. Ability to research and analyze external products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs. 4. Knowledge of concepts, practices, and leadership techniques used to identify, engage, influence and monitor relationships with individuals and groups connected to cyber, IT, or IM work/development efforts. Includes those who are actively involved, those who exert influence over the process and its results, and those who have a vested interest in the outcome. Ability to provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical cyber, IT, or IM issues as well as ability to work effectively with customers to assess their requirements then provide information, expertise, and assistance to satisfy those needs. 5. Knowledge of methods of leadership and supervision to hold others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Ability to determine objectives, make sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, set priorities, cause change, and accomplish organizational goals. 6. Skill in leading productive teams and work centers. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a unit and lead, mentor, motivate, and appraise subordinate staff.
