Summary

This position is for DISA White House Communications Agency at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, District of Columbia. This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

Duties

Help

  • Supervises Information Technology Specialists and provides oversight of Information Assurance (IA) contractors who help to administer the WHCA IA program.
  • Performs supervisory duties such as assigning and reviewing work, approving support forms, developing performance standards, evaluating work performance, and finding ways to improve production and the quality of products or services.
  • Compiles IA resource requirements from subordinate activities and develops documentation for Program Objective Memorandum and other resourcing processes.
  • Coordinates with IA managers, to include DISA, DoD, and supported activities, to discuss and resolve IA issues and requirements.
  • Establishes procedures within the command to document status of information system accreditation.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • This is a drug testing position.
  • This is a Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information position with Yankee White.


Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:

Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. For vacancies below the full-performance level of the position, the basic requirement will be evaluated on a developmental basis. Your resume and work experience should clearly support your ability to meet these competencies and will be evaluated as part of the entire application process.

Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.

Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs.

Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.

Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions.

Qualifying Experience:

To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:

Experience analyzing, evaluating, and recommending hardware or software changes to diverse computer systems to ensure the seamless integration of information assurance requirements.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for thequalifying experienceat the GG-13 grade level.

Additional information

  • Prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum).
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
  • This position is NOT subject to the limitations imposed by the DOD Priority Placement Program per Secretary of Defense Memorandum dated 09 MAR 2018.
