The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-time Supervisory General Supply Specialist (NH-2001-03) to work for Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the 635 SCOW, at Scott Air Force Base located in Belleville, Illinois. Directs work activities through subordinates with responsibility for maintaining a current knowledge and guiding subordinate employees to provide advice, accountability, and expertise on a continuous basis. Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time over subordinate employees predominately in the Supply Group and journey level or higher. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate employees, sets and adjusts short and long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance, gives advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinates on both work and administrative matters. Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and logistics related objectives. Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise. Ensures subordinate provide customer guidance and training. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses. Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up. Researches and determines or recommends appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command, or agency. Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of team building, developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and leading members as a cooperative team. 4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium (or large) sized organization. 5. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options. 7. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 8. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization.
