Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is seeking a full-time Supervisory General Engineer [redacted]M to work in the Field & Depot Support & Test Section at Tinker AFB in Midwest City, OK. This position is an NH-0801-04 which has a typical 2026 salary range of $125,776 - $192,331 (including locality). This Supervisory General Engineer ([redacted]M) position supports the Sustainment of the Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) Weapon System for the Air Force Nuclear Center, Air Delivered Capabilities Division at Tinker Air Force Base, OK. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Engineering Section Chief for the Field & Depot Support & Test Section, consisting of the modeling and simulation, integrated flight systems, mission planning, Service Life Extension Programs, and Field Support teams. Primary responsibilities include supervising a diverse team of government employees in developing, integrating, and implementing technical solutions to highly complex problems, promoting teamwork, and solving broad organizational issues to ensure a flexible, low risk approach for sustaining the ALCM Weapon System. Technical areas of responsibility include requirements management, systems engineering, technical design, material development, test and evaluation, concepts of operations, fielding, and sustainment of the ALCM cruise missile. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: • Leads and supervises a team of multi-disciplined engineers in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and coach team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques; develop strategies for training, mentoring, and continued development of subordinate engineering workforce. • Identifies and resolve highly complex problems crossing organizational boundaries and promulgate solutions. • Engages with an extended and geographically dispersed stakeholders including subject matter experts from across the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, Air Force Global Strike Command, Air Force Research Labs Support, Contractors, and Senior Department of Defense officials to ensure ALCM technical activities are successfully planned, coordinated, and executed. • Identifies and resolves highly complex problems crossing organizational boundaries and promulgate solutions. • Responsible for leading all Division field and depot technical support including on-site AFGSC and USSTRATCOM generation support • Performs mission analysis, capability requirements allocation analysis, top-level design synthesis, and functional analysis and allocation. • Engages in concept planning; design and development; nuclear hardness and certification, integration, testing and verification at the nuclear cruise missile weapon system, element or component level. • Develops and presents technical briefings and reports to Senior Executives. • Responsible for leading the Engineering Branch to standardize and improve Systems Engineering processes across the Division. Specifically in improving all DoD 5000.02 Systems Engineering Documents, Technical Reviews, application of the AFMC mandated Systems Engineering Assessment Model, and Security Systems Engineering Health Assessments. Additionally, section is responsible for leading all Division Service Life Extension (SLEP) engineering, field technical support and HCI efforts. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: • Performs multidisciplinary professional engineering work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines to determine the business and technical needs of customers in the acquisition, development, or sustainment of weapon systems, sub-systems, support systems, equipment items, or an equivalent product. • Demonstrated experience conducting systems engineering technical reviews (SETRs), reviewing drawings and analysis, planning validation and verification events, reviewing test plans and test reports, chairing test readiness reviews (TRRs), facilitating failure review boards (FRBs), and support all-up round (AUR) level tests. • Demonstrated experience leading in a team environment, including training and mentoring junior engineers. Supervisory experience is highly desired. • Candidates should possess highly effective written and oral communication skills; skilled in preparing briefing materials and delivering briefings to Senior Executives and external stakeholders. • Candidates should have a strong background in professional scientific or engineering principles, modeling and simulation frameworks, requirements development, verification activities, digital engineering, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE). • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD acquisition processes to include but not limited to: risk and opportunity management processes, configuration control board processes, and engineering change proposal processes. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: • U.S. CITIZENSHIP • Ability to obtain & maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations. • This is a drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing. • Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving a "Practitioner" certification in "Test and Evaluation" within five years of appointment. • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually. • A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution is highly desired. An advanced engineering degree, such as a Master's or a PhD is preferred.
