- You will review and interpret applicable environmental regulations, recommending solutions and taking required actions to ensure compliance.
- You will stay up to date on current, new, and proposed environmental regulations.
- You will advise management, supervisors, staff, and operating officials on matters concerning environmental compliance and pollution prevention programs.
- You will identify environmental abatement projects needed to comply with laws, acts, and programs.
- You will determine the resourcing requirements necessary to accomplish program goals.
- You will draft written plans and schedules and set milestones for accomplishing program goals.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid State driver's license and must obtain a California driver's license within 10 days of start date.

- This position requires rotating shift work. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the
GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, implementing, organizing, administering, evaluating, and coordinating environmental programs AND supervising staff.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
EducationIn lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on an equivalent combination of education and experience as follows:Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
orLL.M. degree, if related
orA combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
