This position serves as the lead supervisor and strategic advisor for Operations Support correspondence and taskings, overseeing high-visibility incoming and outgoing communications, executive-level deliverables, workflow management, quality control, and correspondence procedures. The incumbent supervises a team of Correspondence Analysts and support staff while providing strategic guidance, analytical review, and executive communication support to senior leadership. This work supports CBP and DHS mission objectives by ensuring timely, accurate, and strategically aligned communications for Operations Support.
This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10).
- Providing high-level administrative and strategic support, including preparing the EAC for critical meetings with CBP and DHS leadership, drafting executive-level communications pertaining to OS initiatives, and managing special projects on behalf of the EAC that directly impact OS operations and strategic goals.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and prioritizing all incoming tasking deliverables and correspondence for offices within OS, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives and executive priorities.
- Identifying trends in OS correspondence and provides strategic suggestions to improve work processes and ensure the agency's timely and accurate response to all correspondence received.
- Establishing and enforcing rigorous quality control standards for all outgoing responses originating from OS, ensuring proper format, accuracy, completeness, and adherence to executive communication protocols.
- Supervising a team of Correspondence Analysts and support staff responsible for managing the flow of all incoming and outgoing taskings, deliverables, and correspondence.

QualificationsExperience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Providing strategic advisory support to senior leadership by drafting executive-level correspondence, preparing briefing materials, synthesizing complex information, and developing recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
- Supervising or leading a team responsible for managing high-visibility correspondence, taskings, deliverables, or executive communications by assigning work, setting priorities, monitoring workflow, and providing technical guidance.
- Developing and implementing correspondence policies, procedures, quality control standards, or communication protocols to ensure outgoing products are accurate, complete, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Coordinating with senior officials, program offices, internal components, or external stakeholders to resolve complex communication issues, clarify requirements, manage sensitive inquiries, and ensure timely responses to mission-critical matters.

Additional informationSupervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18 month probationary period upon appointment.
Leadership Training: All newly appointed first-time CBP Supervisors are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include 3 weeks of in residence training in Harpers Ferry, WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
