In this role - the VEV Core LEAN & Advanced Test Methods Supervisor will lead LEAN process improvements across global VEV test laboratories and facilities in the areas of powertrain, electrical, body, chassis, safety, NVH, wind tunnels, proving grounds, garage services, and prototype build & planning.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
• Lead a central team to modernize and transform operations for Ford's global testing facilities, including laboratories across the United States, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Australia.
• Drive KPI-based improvement to capability and cost in areas including Powertrain, Electrical, Body/Chassis, Safety, NVH, Materials, and Prototype Build.
• Lead ~5-8 direct reports as LEAN project managers with dotted-line support from global test teams.
• Lead ~4-5 direct reports for Advanced Test Methods & vehicle-in-the-loop automation/simulation to shift testing from road-to-lab-to-math.
• Operations optimization for wind tunnels, proving grounds, crash barrier, emissions testing, HV battery & inverter testing, hardware/software/vehicle-in-the-loop simulation, engine/transmission dynamometers, interior and exterior component and subsystem testing, etc.
• Own labor forecasting and productivity improvement process for 2,300-person global workforce, ensuring laboratories are prepared for upcoming test demands.
• Adapt and standardize the Ford LEAN Maturity Model (LMM) from Ford Manufacturing into the laboratory environment across global facilities, focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance/Environment, and Ford Production System Pillars.
• Optimize current $5Bn asset footprint and identify upcoming capital investment needs (5-year horizon) to deliver next-generation test capability in support of upcoming cycle plan.
• Lead "Joint-Efficiency" workstreams by partnering with Ford's engineering communities to improve their throughput and efficiency while testing in VEV laboratories.

Qualifications

You'll have...
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Business Administration, or related
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of technical experience in engineering and operations
  • Broad facility, laboratory, engineering, and test experience
  • Experience with test execution, sensors & measurements, data analysis and reporting
  • Electrical/simulation environment experience supporting advanced test methods, simulation & automation
  • Experience working with key partners in Powertrain, Electrical, Body/Chassis, Safety, NVH, Materials, and Prototype Build

  • Master of Science in Engineering or MBA preferred.
  • Prior capital investment project management experience.
  • Experience leading teams through structured transformation and operational improvements.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
