JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Overview

The Supervisor, Systems Verification leads the team that ensures that software and instruments used in in vitro diagnostic tests systems designed by Exact Sciences meet customer and design requirements. The Supervisor, Systems Verification uses a technical background in software development or engineering, combined with an understanding of the system design and design control principles, to analyze user needs, requirements and designs to create testing strategies for verification and validation of software and instrument systems.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Analyze user needs for completeness and translate into testable requirements.
  • Design testing strategies and detailed test plans for functional verification at module, unit and system levels.
  • Document test plans, acceptance criteria and test results.
  • Design and code automated tests.
  • Write and execute system and software verification and validation tests.
  • Effectively record, reproduce, and communicate software and hardware bugs to development staff and contribute to their resolution.
  • Review design control documentation.
  • Effectively manage, support, and guide your team, including, but not limited to delegating tasks and responsibilities, assess employee performance and provide helpful feedback and training opportunities.
  • Consistent demonstration of exceptional leadership qualities, including, but not limited to the ability to attract and retain the best team, foster a culture of high performance, lead with integrity, humility, accountability, and courage, and set a clear vision to energize teams towards the future.

  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment; including microscopes, microtomes, blades, strainers, and pipettes for extended periods of time.
  • May perform repetitious actions using lab tools.
  • Ability to use near vision to view samples at close range.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.
  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or science field, or related field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 3 years of experience leading and managing a test team.
  • 5 years of experience in software or systems development and testing.
  • Strong analytical, investigative and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of regression, black box, white box, boundary condition, performance, and other standard testing strategies.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-directed learning.
  • Working ability in C# and SQL.
  • Computer skills include internet navigation and email usage.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience leading and managing a test team.
  • 7 years of experience in software or systems development and testing.


The base pay for this position is
$78,000.00 - $156,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
