Job SummaryNews 12 is looking for a driven Supervisor, Studio Operations to lead a team of talented newscast directors. The ideal candidate will be an innovative television director who's looking to coach and grow new talent in a technologically advanced control room/studio environment. The role will be highly collaborative with production, engineering, and editorial teams.
Responsibilities- Supervise team of studio directors.
- Coordinate studio and staff schedules.
- Direct newscasts and special productions, as needed.
- Ensure high quality video productions.
- Work closely with the Sr Director, Network News Technology and Studio Operations to oversee day-to-day and long-term planning.
- Work with Engineering to maintain equipment and facility.
- Respond to breaking news and other urgent situations as required.
- Hire, coach, train staff members and build strong teams.
Qualifications- Experience in television control rooms and studios, preferably with studio automation systems, like GrassValley Ignite (preferred)
- Previous experience as a newscast director required
- Understanding of video switchers and ability to create and modify effects
- Working knowledge of ENPS or other newsroom software
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $77,112.00 - $126,684.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
