Summary:
The Special Procedures Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor will possess excellent technical skills and demonstrate appropriate personality and desire for additional leadership/supervisory responsibility. To this end, the incumbent will provide valuable input with regard to policy and procedure, hiring, teaching/orienting/coaching both team members and students, remediation, discipline, evaluating personnel performance, and equipment evaluation and selection. The incumbent is responsible for keeping team members abreast of current technology and service requirements. The supervisor is accountable for compliance with Joint Commission standards, local, State and federal regulations and adherence to facility and departmental policy/procedure. Continuing education and local society involvement is a high priority.
The supervisor will ensure that timely and appropriate care is delivered to patients of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics in accordance with quality standards established by the facility and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. The incumbent performs all patient care and examination duties assigned to staff technologists. The supervisor ensures effective communication with patients of every status and works with the outpatient scheduling office to optimize scheduling templates and accommodate add-on examinations. The supervisor works with management and physicians to develop modality specific procedure protocols and to educate team members to their use.
The incumbent will act as liaison between patients, patient's family, and physician to ensure excellent communication and customer satisfaction. The supervisor must communicate effectively, and will be responsible to disseminate information up and down the communications ladder in a timely and effective manner.
The supervisor assists with establishing specific operational and performance improvement goals and objectives for their assigned department, and is actively involved in accurate recording, analyzing, and reporting in a timely manner the department monitors established for this purpose. The incumbent assists with planning and preparation of the Operational and Capital Equipment budgets, and ensures efficient day-to-day operations with relation to approved budgets including ordering and management of supplies. The supervisor offer meaningful input with regard to work efficiency and resource flexing.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Radiology from a radiologic technology program recognized by The American College of Radiology. Bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of two years of hospital-based experience in related area. Technical experience and supervisory skills are necessary. The successful Supervisor will need to attend the hospital Management Training course within the first eighteen months of employment. Previous Diagnostic Imaging supervisory training and experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active ARRT or RCIS certification
Advanced certification in Special Procedures is preferred

The range for this position is $36.84-$52.42. Actual rate is dependent upon experience.
