Position Summary

The Service Planning & Design leadership job family is responsible for customer advocacy, project coordination and delivery for new business electric and gas customer projects, designs, cost estimates, contracts, accounts receivables, dependency management, clerical services and other related services. Incumbents are responsible for the strategic engagement and ongoing new business relationship management with large builders and developers, cities and counties, and active strategic customers in PG&E's service territory. Responsibilities include planning for, and addressing, emerging legislation and trends in new business gas and electric service, partnering with internal stakeholders from other lines of business to successfully enable new business gas and electric load for critical support of economic vitality and housing growth requirements, and providing support during major emergencies.
The Applicant Design Service Planning Supervisor will be responsible for Service Planning project management of all applicant design jobs in the North Coast and Bay Area Regions in accordance with the Applicant Design Manual and standard work processes and timeline expectations. This position will direct daily activities of about 12 dedicated Applicant Design Service Planning Representatives. Supervisor will foster strong working relationships with all partners of the applicant design process, including Estimating and Design, Scheduling, Construction, and participate in construction meetings, scheduling meetings, Globals coordination sessions and customer portfolio meetings as appropriate.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the Bay Region or the North Coast Region of the service territory.

Travel required up to 50% to American Canyon, San Rafael, Oakport, Ukiah, Santa Rosa and Concord.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

Bay Minimum: $128,000
Bay Maximum: $218,000

CA Minimum: $122,000
CA Maximum: $207,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff providing customer consultation for new business opportunities, customer advocacy, project management and designs for new business gas and electric customers, overseeing the new service process roadmap and driving revenue generation for the company.
  • Maintains overall customer experience of new business customer projects, coordinating across all lines of business for service delivery.
  • Supervises staff to drive performance and accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition.
  • Maintains organizational and employee performance in alignment with new business customer delivery goals and metrics including safety, productivity, quality, customer satisfaction and areas of improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with union shop stewards and understands and adheres to union contracts.
  • Ensures adherence in the areas of tariff compliance, rules, regulations, accounts receivable guidelines and contracts.
  • Ensures work is performed and meets all Company and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) standards, criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Creates a safety-first work environment and culture.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of job-related experience
  • 2 years of utility/construction/urban planning experience including experience with service planning, estimating, project management, technical customer service and/or other relevant experience.
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of working time with occasional overnight stays


Desired:

  • Leadership experience, job-related, 2 years
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • Construction Management certification
  • Knowledge of utility industry safety practices and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of new business tariffs and gas &electric Rule 2, 15, and 16.
  • Knowledge of the California Public Utility Commission General Orders (GO) 95, 128 and 165 requirements and bargaining unit contracts.
  • Knowledge of gas and electric distribution construction practices.
  • Knowledge of estimating preparation and approval process.
  • Working knowledge of the Work Management Process, SAP and Construction Scheduling process.
  • Working knowledge of bargaining unit contracts
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to effectively build relationships and manage subordinates.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
