Evening Shift Summary:Directs the daily respiratory care services provided by staff respiratory care personnel of the Pulmonary Medicine Division in all clinical areas of the hospital. Assumes charge capacity on assigned shifts as needed. Works closely with other supervisory, managerial and staff personnel in the division as well as those in other disciplines. Ensures that policies, procedures, goals and objectives of the Pulmonary Division are planned, organized and implemented in a manner consistent with the mission of the hospital.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)- Education: A.S. degree in Respiratory Care required. Bachelor's degree and advanced degree preferred.
- License/Certifications: Licensure by the State of Maine as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (Therapist) and credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Active member status with the American Association of Respiratory Care preferred.
- Experience: N/A
- Requires a thorough knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathology, diagnostic techniques, treatment methods & equipment selection and maintenance for all aspects of the performance of respiratory care procedures therapy.
- Must be proficient in the delivery, evaluation and assessment of all procedures utilized in the respiratory care of neonatal, pediatric and adult patients.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work closely with other supervisory personnel and staff personnel in a consistently appropriate and professional manner.
- Requires interpersonal skills necessary to provide direct supervision to personnel working in various areas of the division. Must be able to instruct personnel in new methods of respiratory care in clinical environments.
Additional Information The pay range for this position is $89,980.80 to $121,721.60 per year.
Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
