The Supervisor, Remote Pharmacy Operations plays a critical leadership role in supporting the Pharmacy Operations department by overseeing a team of Consulting Pharmacists who provide telephonic patient consultations through company systems and technologies. Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Operations, this position is responsible for driving operational excellence, team performance, workforce planning, and quality initiatives to ensure exceptional patient support and efficient pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Performance Management: Lead and supervise a team of Consulting Pharmacists, overseeing daily operations, productivity, and performance metrics to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Operational Reporting & Process Improvement: Establish and implement reporting requirements, analyze operational data, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver actionable insights that support continuous process enhancements.
- Training & Quality Assurance: Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and implement training programs, coaching initiatives, and quality assurance processes that support team development and operational excellence.
- Workforce Planning: Forecast staffing needs based on operational demands and prescription volume to maintain appropriate coverage and service levels.
- Employee Development & Coaching: Manage performance expectations, conduct ongoing performance evaluations, and provide training, mentorship, and coaching to direct reports.
- Technology & Systems Expertise: Develop and maintain expertise in pharmacy and communication platforms, including Five9 (or other Voice over IP systems), Salesforce, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Pharmacy Operating Systems to optimize team effectiveness.
- Operational Support: Perform frontline pharmacist responsibilities as needed to support prescription volume, maintain staffing coverage, and ensure continuity of patient care.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders and leadership teams to align operational goals, improve workflows, and support organizational initiatives.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Active, clear, and unrestricted Pharmacist license in your state of residence.
- Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the applicable Board of Pharmacy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmacist experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience hiring, managing, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, patient consultation workflows, and healthcare technology systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to analyze operational data, manage performance metrics, and drive process improvements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and lead teams in a fast-paced remote environment.

Physical requirements for this role include the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions required to operate a computer that include the wrists, hands and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move light objects up to 20 pounds. The role also requires the ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.
