Position Highlights

  • Department: Rehab Admin Hospital
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift: Shift 1, Days


Position Summary

  • Organizes implements, directs and monitors the activities of the inpatient physical rehabilitation department. Provides leadership and vision to ensure optimal delivery of services.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in direct patient care.
  • Effectively communicates with staff and departmental leadership regarding department and organization's initiatives, policies and procedures, and pertinent information.
  • Skillfully prioritizes department needs.
  • Assists with planning, budgeting and goal setting to achieve productivity and financial targets for assigned departments.
  • Effectively manages all day to day activities in assigned areas including staff orientation, training, scheduling, performance review and providing leadership to the staff in the utilization and development of resources both clinical and non clinical.
  • Monitors all quality improvement activities, clinical performance improvement and staff education programs in their designated area.
  • Demonstrates effective skills in modifying staff behavior, developing staff and facilitating agency goal achievement.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, reliability and poise in dealing with change, with delays and with changing work demands.
  • Keeps abreast of current trends in rehabilitation through continuing education, networking and professional literature review.
  • Responsible for special projects assigned by the Managers and Director in the areas of program development, injury prevention, technical development and inpatient services.
  • Meets the requirements of a Staff Therapist

Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduate of an Approved School of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the State of Connecticut.
• Self-motivated Clinician with strong interpersonal skills.
• 3 years of applicable clinical experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with electronic medical charting
• Previous management experience
• Flexibility with scheduling
• Organized
