Supervisor, Rate Design I or II

Location: Fergus Falls, MN (or applicable location)

This role reports to the Manager, Regulatory Economics and is a grade 13 for Supervisor Rate Design I or a grade 14 for Supervisor Rate Design II.

What You'll Do

As Supervisor, Rate Design, you will lead the development and implementation of retail electric rates, pricing programs, tariffs, and special customer agreements. You'll work closely with leaders across the organization to balance customer needs, regulatory requirements, revenue objectives, and evolving industry trends.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for rate design, pricing analysis, and revenue forecasting.
  • Develop and evaluate electric rates, tariffs, riders, and pricing programs that support fair and effective cost recovery.
  • Guide the company's pricing strategy through economic analysis, cost-of-service studies, customer usage trends, and market insights.
  • Lead regulatory efforts associated with proposed rate changes, including testimony development, regulatory filings, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee revenue forecasting activities and analyze the financial impact of pricing and regulatory decisions.
  • Provide expertise and consultation to internal business partners and customers on rates, tariffs, pricing structures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate across departments to improve pricing tools, forecasting models, and business processes.
  • Monitor industry developments and emerging regulatory trends that may influence the future of utility pricing.

    • The expected offer for base compensation for this role is $92,000 - $140,000 annually. The actual compensation within the compensation range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
