Job Description

Oversees the day-to-day clinical operations of the Radiation Therapists providing guidance and support ensuring quality patient-focused care is delivered in a professional and efficient manner. Responsible for hiring, orienting, training, scheduling/assigning work, performance management, and timekeeping. Serves as a mentor and role model, motivating staff to provide quality patient care. Fosters teamwork and collaboration creating a productive and positive work environment. Participates on committees and/or in meetings as appropriate. May represent the department at meetings. May provide direct patient care utilizing Therapist treatment protocols. Stays current on Radiation Therapy treatment protocols, practices and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Health Care related degree ( Medical Imaging, Health Administration, etc.). At least five (5) years' experience as a Radiation Therapist in a Radiation Oncology facility required. Previous leadership/management experience in interacting and leading a large diverse group preferred. Continuing educational hours are required to maintain the registered status (24 hours in a two year time frame). Demonstrated ability to learn and apply complex procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of radiation oncology and human relation skills with experience in interacting and leading a large diverse group. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously with efficiency. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization, patients, visitors, vendors. Demonstrated decision making and judgment capabilities. Current ARRT certification for Radiation Therapy.
