SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of departmental workers.
- Schedule functional areas to achieve optimal usage on machines.
- Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Direct setup and adjustment of machines
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Machine Tool Technologies or equivalent work experience
- 8-10 years of work-related experience
- 3-5 years of trade school, vocational education, or four years of formal apprenticeship (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T
- Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices.
- Extensive knowledge of CNC programming.
- Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines.
- Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making.
- Ability to speak basic English language.
