SUPERVISOR, PARKS MAINTENANCE Posting Start Date: 7/2/26 Job Opening Number: 107204 Job Requisition Number: 413 Number of Positions: 1 Job Type: Management and Administration Job Code: Supervisor 6, 40 Department: COMMUNITY SERVICES Division: Parks Maintenance & Forestry Hiring Salary Range: $102,784.00 - $115,632.00 per annum Maximum of Salary Range: $128,480.00 per annum Job Grade: 006 Job Status and Duration: Full Time (FT), Regular (R) Hours of Work: 40 Hour work week Location: Maybe be required to work at various City Parks Operations Facilities as required Posting Date: July 2, 2026 Closing Date: July 15, 2026 Notice to Internal Applicants: To ensure your application is processed as internal, please submit your application using your City of Brampton work email address. External and internal applicants are now being considered. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Reports to Manager, Parks Operations. Supervise grounds maintenance operational staff in City Parks. - Supervision and guidance of District Parks Forepersons including scheduling and training of staff. - Manage services provided by outside contractors. - Respond to general requests, complaints and other public inquiries. - Implement and review monthly operating budget and expenditures. - Ensure compliance and adherence to by-laws and policies, as they relate to Parks Maintenance and Operations. - Schedule operating equipment and make recommendations for capital and replacement purchases; coordinate equipment allocation; monitor maintenance of equipment to ensure safety and reliability. - Perform parkland inspections and ensure safety of staff and public. - Set goals and conduct performance evaluation of Forepersons. - Evaluate productivity of parks maintenance staff. - Participate in recruitment of new full time staff. - Represent division on committees within the organization and in the community. - Participate in budget preparation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: College Diploma/Certificate in Landscape Technology or related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in Parks Maintenance plus proven leadership ability including scheduling, training, and supervising staff. Other Skills and Assets: Computer literacy and basic accounting skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
