Full Job Description
Wisconsin Gas, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Supervisor Operations Corrosion in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.

Job Summary

The Supervisor Operations Corrosion is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the operating and construction activities associated with the Company's gas corrosion control systems. Specifically, this position will provide direct supervision, planning, and record retention to meet Federal / State corrosion control code requirements, including the Pipeline Integrity and the new Distribution Integrity Management programs, and to comply with specific Company corrosion control standards. In addition, this position will develop and oversee the appropriate application of corrosion control design for gas facility installations associated with mains, services and station construction. Due to the unique and specific skill sets that the corrosion control group provides to the Company, the Supervisor Operations Corrosion at times is asked to support other areas outside of gas on corrosion control issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement processes and procedures associated with inspecting and maintaining the Company's Corrosion Control Systems.
  • Establish, implement and provide training programs for individuals that work on corrosion control. This training is emphasized in the Corrosion Control Specialist and CST positions.
  • Direct and monitor corrosion control inspection programs that comply with DOT 192 / PSC135 Code and Company Requirements. Specific emphasis will be placed on Pipeline Integrity and new Distribution Integrity Management rules and maintaining appropriate corrosion protection in the field.
  • Direct and support company personnel on corrosion control methods and the use of products that provide cathodic protection.
  • Plan, review and schedule construction and repair orders associated with corrosion control facilities.
  • Establish design criteria and oversee the cathodic protection design on company systems for mains, services and stations.
  • Establish and maintain labor contracts to maintain corrosion control facilities including corrosion reads, troubleshooting cathodic protection issues, and painting of facilities.
  • Supervise the central corrosion control staff and provide work direction to engineering and area based corrosion personnel.
  • The Supervisor Operations Corrosion is responsible for after hour calls in regard to the integrity of the distribution system.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • In lieu of Bachelors degree in Engineering, An Associate degree in a technical field with two years of relevant corrosion control training will be considered. Consideration may be given to applicants with 5 years of operations experience working with gas distribution facilities that also demonstrate a sound understanding and technical knowledge of the gas distribution system.
  • The successful applicant must possess or obtain a minimum level 2 accreditation by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years of work experience in corrosion control is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Company record keeping systems relating to the Company's distribution system and corrosion control is a plus.

Pay Range Minimum: $104,083.72

Pay Range Maximum: $156,125.32

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
