OverviewThe Advance Planning Supervisor is responsible for oversite and execution of the daily workload within the Columbia Advance Planning Final Assembly & Test New Construction team. The role encompasses complex scheduling assessments and it is essential that the selected individual is able to drive accountability within the team to own, defend, and clearly articulate the details of their portions of the schedule. Regular interface with senior leadership in Program Office, Operations, Ship Management, Detail Planning & Production Control will be required.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and will be able to set a culture of teamwork, communication, and trust. The Advance Planning Supervisor will be well-versed in department procedures and processes and have the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate schedule risks and mitigation plans to leadership.
Overarching objective is to ensure the enterprise can rely on the Artemis Network to prioritize Design/Engineering/Planning/Material/Deckplate work, and accurately influence critical business decisions.
This is an on-site position Monday - Friday locatedin Groton, CT.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of Electric Boat experience in any combination of Planning / Scheduling, Ship Management, Test, Operations, Engineering or equivalent U.S. military service
- Current or previous user of Artemis, Primavera or directly related scheduling software
Preferred:
- Technical degree (AS or BS)
- Previously or currently holds a supervisor position, leading a team of 5+ direct reports
- Familiarity with the Integrated Management and Control System (IMCS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- An expert user of Project Management Software, predominantly MS Project and Artemis
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to identify problems and develop potential solutions
- Knowledge of Final Assembly and Test ship construction processes with an emphasis on ship certification
- Knowledge of submarine systems (purpose and operations)
- Possess experience and knowledge of the requirements for successfully integrating Test and Ship27s Force requirements into ships27 schedules is highly desirable
- Skilled computer and Microsoft Office user
