Summary
An Ocean Export Supervisor is responsible for managing the export process for ocean freight shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies. This position supervises a team of ocean export freight forwarders and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the ocean export department
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies
• Supervise a team of ocean export freight forwarders
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments
• Resolve issues related to customs, documentation, and shipment delays
• Coordinate with the ocean carrier, trucking companies, and other service providers
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the company's transportation management system
• Provide guidance and training to team members on export regulations and procedures
• Prepare reports and metrics related to export operations
Educational background / Work experience
• A bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred. However, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ocean export operations, including experience in a supervisory role.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)
• This position will supervise a team of ocean export coordinators.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Customs Broker (CCB) designation
• Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems
• Knowledge of export regulations and procedures for other transportation modes (air, land)
Language skills
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
Computer Literacy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems is required.
• Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems may be preferred.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $73,000 - $91,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
