Job Summary
The Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of maintenance workers on the night shift. Assigns tasks, sets priorities, and ensures that work is completed efficiently and effectively. Monitors and inspects work to ensure quality and adherence to safety standards. Provides training, guidance, and support to maintenance staff. Maintains records of work orders, equipment maintenance, and inventory. Collaborates with other supervisors and managers to coordinate maintenance activities and schedules. Troubleshoots and resolves maintenance issues as needed.

Essential Functions
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance team activities.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and direct repair efforts.
• Prepare maintenance reports and track equipment performance.
• Proven track record of leadership to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
• Build a strong safety culture to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan's safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Must possess knowledge and experience leading financial performance to established targets, meeting or exceeding performance go goals.

• Ensures that the plant meets all SHE policies and practices at the site location and works with SHE Regional employees and Company officials to promote a safe work environment that meets all State and Federal rules and regulations.
• Insures that employees receive proper training and instructions to perform assigned job duties.

• Technical Expertise -Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction, understand and report them to the maintenance team.

It combines theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and problem-solving ability that is valuable to employers for innovation, efficiency, and problem-solving.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong understanding of plant maintenance in a quarry and oversee all night shift operations.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance team activities.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and direct repair efforts.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Prepare maintenance reports and track equipment performance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team - excellent communicator, motivator and team builder.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment, MSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, and quality control systems and processes.

Other Requirements
• Must be willing to work evening/night shift.
• Must keep abreast of maintenance needs, requirements, problem-solving, and service data for all mobile and fixed equipment.
• Ability to work in a stressful, deadline oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision making. Must be able to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Work environment will be both indoors in an office and outside in the quarry or plant. In the office employee will occasionally be required to sit at a desk or operator's station. In the outside setting employee will perform activities at various heights, around moving machinery, be exposed to dust, fumes and gases; may be required to use hand tools or power tools.
• Outside setting will expose employee to changes in temperature/humidity and will require walking on uneven surfaces. May be required to climb steps, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl or reach above shoulders to accomplish functions of job. Position will require ability to operate automobile within plant site as well as on the open road which would require the use of both feet as well as being able to walk or climb.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Salary Range. The salary range for this role is $89,694 to $114,444 annually, inclusive of the regional supplement and shift differential. This range does not include our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider several factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

Shift Differential. At Vulcan Materials Company, Northeast Division, Night Shift employees are paid a Shift Differential of an additional 20% on their base pay for working during the designated time period. We believe the additional compensation helps to offset the inconvenience of working less desirable hours.
