Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$77.910 - $100.530 - $112.590

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do
Provide direct supervision of and 24-hour responsibility for personnel and assure the quality of clinical nursing care of NICU patients. This position has responsibility for the coordination of care for patients and families in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Responsibility includes planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating staff and care activities in Neonatal Intensive Care to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective patient care. The position is accountable for scheduling, coordinating, and maintaining the resources necessary on a specific shift daily, weekly, and monthly.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 3 Years Clinical nursing experience, one year of which shall have been in a facility with a NICU that is equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU.
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Various-Employee provides certificate -REQUIRED

    Identifies and/or participates in implementation of cost reducing or revenue enhancing ideas.
    Contributes to utilization of supplies in a cost-effective manner that supports delivery of care within budgeted supply expense per unit of service.

    Collaborates with other disciplines/departments to resolve identified issues.
    Assists staff in problem solving and prioritization of patient care.
    Collaborates with Physicians to resolve identified issues.
    Demonstrates resolution of operational issues as negotiated with manager.
    Identifies bio-ethical dilemmas and initiates appropriate response.
  • Quality
    Identifies and develops action plan to resolve quality issues in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Specialist and other interdisciplinary care team members.
    Identifies clinical learning needs and implements plan to assure learning achieved.
    Implements systems to inform / monitor staff compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
    Achieves / Maintains specialty certification in clinical area of practice.
    Participates in the evaluation of data that is pertinent to patient care outcomes including quality variance reports.
