Full Job Description
Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Maintenance - Evening Shift - Mineola.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for supervising the off shift engineering team as they complete repairs in patient rooms and coordinates with the Bedboard on room availability. Acts as liaison between the engineering department and environmental services Department and schedules completed rooms for cleaning. Provides managers with updates and progress of the room repairs each night and maintains records of room repairs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Supervises employees performing renovations and repairs off-shift or evening.
  • Assists the engineering department efforts to complete all NFPA 101 Life Safety Code Deficiencies. (i.e. NFPA 101; Means of Egress, Features of Fire Protection, New Health Care Occupancies and Existing Health Care Occupancies)

  • Supports management with the snow removal efforts. Monitor conditions during a snow storm and call-in Union Employees, from the active snow removal list. Assign the employees to operate the snow equipment and shoveling detail. If needed coordinate the removal of snow piles off campus.

  • Evaluates room renovation requirements and inspect all completed work. Coordinates with multiple Departments to inspect the rooms ( ceiling tiles, floor tiles, paint, AC system and plumbing fixtures ) and assigns the work to shops as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. 5-7 years Experience in construction, Facilities Management or other related fields. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, leadership skills. Ability to read and follow technical documents, manuals, drawings, schematics, specifications and blueprints. Knowledgeable of all pertinent codes and regulations as found in the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code 2012 Edition. Such as Features of Fire Protection, New Health Care Occupancies and Existing Health Care Occupancies. Proficient Computer skills Microsoft Office ( Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint ).

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $80,349.03 - $138,602.08 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
