What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

Training & Development:
  • Design & deliver onboarding and ongoing training programs for logistics team members (e.g, material handlers, line feeders, Team leaders)
  • Maintain and update training material, SOPs, and visual aids in alignment with operational changes.
  • Conduct skills assessments and maintain training records for compliance and audit readiness.
  • Facilities cross-training to support workforce flexibility and coverage.

Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and coach a team of material handlers and logistics associates.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct daily huddles and communicate operational goals and updates.

Process & System Management:
  • Utilize ERP/WMS system to track inventory movement and generate report
  • Implement and sustain lean logistics practices. Including kanban, milk runs, and tugger routes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material flow and reduce waste.

Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Collaborate with production, planning, and quality teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Resolve material shortage, discrepancies, and delivery issues proactively.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and internal logistics teams for inbound/outbound coordination.

Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization in the handling, storage, and distribution of material. Look for ways to increase operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize costs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to suggest improvements to workflows, processes, or equipment. Implement Lean or Six Sigma techniques to enhance efficiency.
  • Address operational issues such as bottlenecks, delays, or inventory discrepancies. Use problem-solving skills to resolve issues quickly and ensure smooth operations.

Operational Reports: Generate and maintain reports related to empty tote inventory, usage, and movements. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory levels, replenishment times, and productivity.
  • Documentation Compliance: Ensure that all receiving and storage operations are documented properly, maintaining accurate records for audits, inventory tracking, and future reference.
  • Tote Usage Tracking: Track the usage and lifecycle of empty totes, providing insights into replacement needs or potential areas for improvement in the management of tote inventory.

Collaboration with External Partners (if applicable):
  • Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with external suppliers or logistics companies to ensure that empty totes are delivered in a timely manner, and that there are no disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Vendor Management: Work with suppliers to ensure that the quality of empty totes meets required standards, and address any issues related to damaged or subpar totes.

Location & Travel Expectations:
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Experience:
  • Warehouse/Logistics Management: At least 4 years of experience in warehouse or logistics management, with a focus on material handling, inventory management, or assembly inhouse logistics line feeding in an automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to motivate staff and ensure high levels of performance in a fast-paced OEM environment.
  • Inventory Control: Experience with inventory management, including tracking materials, managing stock levels, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of warehouse materials.
  • Process Optimization: Experience with process improvement initiatives, particularly in logistics or warehousing, using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, Lean) are a plus.

Skills:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong ability to lead, train, and manage a team, ensuring productivity and high morale.
  • Logistics Software: Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP), and other relevant logistics software for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Material Handling Equipment: Familiarity with the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies, troubleshoot operational problems, and implement solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate effectively with team members, other departments, and external partners.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage logistics operations, track inventory, and oversee warehouse space efficiently.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial Base Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
