Position Summary
Provides leadership, direction and support. Oversees the day-to-day operational activities in the clinical and research settings as it relates to Bone Densitometry.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs bone mineral density examinations per scanning protocols, correlating patient history with examination and presents study to physician for examination while adhering to patient schedules.
  • Ensures that established goals and operating procedures are communicated to staff.
  • Communicates all changes or updates to the current policy to staff.
  • Manages and coordinates coverage for Bone Density procedures at all sites.
  • Monitors quality control of procedures performed.
  • Ensures accuracy of reports and paperwork per currently established guidelines.
  • Provides opportunities for training and development.
  • Oversees daily quality assurance scans of phantoms in order to maintain system and data integrity.
  • Monitors machine performance and maintenance activity.
  • Ensures that staff maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Facilitates training when necessary.
  • Coordination of all Clinical Research Unit (CRU) research activity, including performing study related procedures, data entry and submission and regulatory reporting.
  • Performs any other tasks deemed necessary by the department.

  • Normal clinical environment with exposure to ionizing radiation, bodily fluids, and electrical hazards, may lift, position, push and/or transfer patients at times and have some pressure caused by adherence to patient examination schedules.
