Job Description: Job Overview The Production Supervisor manages production activities within an assigned department(s), to produce component products at acceptable quality, cost, and service levels on a regular basis. Responsible for maintaining good employee relations and ensures fair and consistent treatment of employees. Please note: This position may involve working with technical data, technology, software/source code, hardware, or other items (collectively "items) subject to U.S. and non-U.S. export control laws and regulations. Under these regulations, it may be necessary for TE to verify a candidate's national origin and/or citizenship status to determine whether a U.S. or other government export license is required prior to releasing its technologies to the candidate. If TE determines that TE will require a license or will be prohibited by applicable laws from providing the candidate with items necessary for the performance of this position, then TE expressly reserves the right to either a) make an offer of employment contingent upon TE receiving required export licenses from the appropriate government agency, b) consider the candidate for a different position that is not subject to such restrictions, on whatever terms and conditions TE shall establish in its sole discretion, or c) decline to move forward with the candidate's application. Job Requirements 3 Coordinating production activities among operators ensuring standard and efficient processes are followed. 3 Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, monitoring work, providing communication, feedback and ongoing support, performance reviews, career development, discipline, addressing complaints and resolving issues in accordance with applicable laws and/or company policy. Monitors and ensures a positive work environment for employees. 3 Directs production activities in accordance with production schedules and established priorities, ensuring maximum utilization of assigned resources, machines, personnel, and materials. 3 Oversees production operations for an assigned shift using documented planning methods which allow for reaction to unforeseen changes in demand or capacity. 3 Ensures production variances associated with material and labor efficiency, materials scrap and usage, are maintained at established goals for the assigned shift. 3 Follows engineering specifications for process parameters making adjustments to bring product into specification when necessary. 3 Evaluates and suggests alternative production methods for continuous improvement. 3 Assists production leads and operators in the interpretation of procedures, methods and correct use of production equipment to ensure procedures are followed 3 Maintains a working knowledge of production components and the associated next tier application. 3 Recommends design and development of tooling and equipment, i.e., fixtures, material handling equipment, production gages and inspection devices as required for new and existing production. 3 Holds Tier meetings with production leads and operators to facilitate production requirements, consistency, and teamwork. 3 Solicits assistance from Engineering on tooling and product insures to assure maximum tool utilization, production capable tolerances, and expedient processing of nonconforming materials. 3 Participates in team driven activities and Kaizen events to facilitate production improvements or new program development projects. 3 Understands and supports quality policies and implements guidelines to assure adherence to quality documents and standards.
