What You Will Do

Supporting One FM's service delivery model, this role requires strong leadership in business operations and people management. As a key leader within Facilities Management, you will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:

Expertise Leading Service DeliveryDrawing on your experience managing 24/7 operations, you will ensure the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of a diverse portfolio of facilities by:
  • Developing client-focused solutions that balance cost, timelines, sustainability, and service excellence.
  • Overseeing technical and non-technical building services (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and structural systems) while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
  • Leading preventive maintenance programs to maximize asset lifecycle and minimize disruption.
  • Monitoring KPI performance and communicating operational insights and performance results.
  • Managing operating and capital budgets while ensuring fiscal accountability.
  • Providing on-call leadership and emergency response to ensure continuity of operations.


Expertise Building Relationships and Leading People
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal partners, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Lead and coordinate in-house teams and contracted service providers to deliver high-quality service.
  • Supervise unionized and non-unionized staff, including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and development.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring / Qualifications
  1. Post-secondary education in facilities management, building operations, engineering, relevant trade licence, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Considerable experience managing facility operations ensuring efficient and uninterrupted service delivery (e.g. maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and control systems) in complex, high-profile or critical environments.
  3. Considerable experience planning, scheduling, and managing the work of staff and contracted service providers in a unionized or similarly structured environment.
  4. Considerable experience building collaborative client relationships while managing vendor performance, contracts, and operating budgets, including reviewing quotes and estimates, ensuring contract compliance, and delivering results in a complex, multi-stakeholder, and politically sensitive environment.
  5. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports using Microsoft applications (MS Word, Excel), as well as correspondence, briefings, and to effectively respond to stakeholder inquiries.
  6. Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and life safety, and building automation systems.
  7. Comprehensive knowledge of common building operational policies and various related Acts, codes and standards including: the Electrical Code, Plumbing Code, Technical Standards & Safety Act (TSSA), Fire Code, Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Lien Act, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  8. Ability to operate with sound judgment, discretion, and political acuity when navigating competing priorities and sensitive environments.
  9. A valid Province of Ontario Class G Driver's Licence and the ability to obtain a City driver's permit.
