Position DescriptionThe Supervisor Engineering Technician I will perform technical support on projects, act as a liaison with other parties for the Professional Engineer in the field, and participate and supervise Engineering Technicians engaged civil engineering work in the field and office.
Work LocationThis position will work in office full time during the first year. After successfully completing the first year of employment, may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities - Perform contract administrative duties by tracking items, which could include budget requests preparation of forms, payroll hours, personnel hours, work progress, etc.
- Monitor and perform inspection and investigation work related to assigned engineering projects in order to evaluate conditions of, sanitary and storm sewers, and to recommend repairs and/or replacement. This includes using software such as ArcMap/ArcGIS, SharePoint, Granite XP CCTV viewer.
- Act as the engineer's field representative for communication with Construction Crew foreman on a jobsite.
- Perform inspection and monitoring of on going construction projects to ensure adherence to approved plans.
- Oversee and complete work on as built drawings and specifications of completed construction projects in order to ensure high quality records for future reference.
- Perform complex mathematical calculations for a variety of purposes including - construction cost estimation, budgets, survey, measurements, and quantities.
- Oversee and assist in the preparation of requisitions and related documents when given parameters for various projects as assigned.
- Meet with representatives of various organizations that have authority and/or involvement with construction and repair site plans to convey City standards, issues and concerns and report back to engineering staff when appropriate for direction and input (i.e. Minnesota Department of Transportation, Hennepin County, Utilities' Representatives , Architects, Contractors, etc.).
- Assist in coordination of City work of Hennepin County, State of Minnesota, utilities, private contractors, etc.
- Attend and lead weekly construction meetings, including preparing minutes and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Oversee (and work on) the production of engineering designs, construction site plans, specifications and repair and/or replacement plans for City owned facilities using computer assisted design software.
- Assign work to lower level staff, providing training and instruction as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsMinimum QualificationsAssociate Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Minimum ExperienceThree (3) years of experience performing similar duties.
License/CertificationsMust possess and maintain a valid Drivers License.
