Position Description

Completes and supervises team in the performance of complex technical support assignments involving test methods, problem resolution, product application, product development and data interpretation using comprehensive product knowledge. Works with customers and the internal engineering team in the support of existing, modified and new products.

  1. Helps customers conduct standard tests and prepares technical reports to resolve customer concerns/problems
  2. Modifies analysis techniques when necessary to solve complex problems
  3. Provides technical support and recommendations from a call center environment
  4. Originates and applies new and unique approaches to evaluate products such as batteries, inverters, and gateways
  5. Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to Concept Analysis, Business Case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps
  6. Provides methods of manufacturing during the design of new products,design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
  7. Supervises and oversees the work of engineering and technical support teams
  8. Leads product related activities with customers such as system commissioning and modifications to maintain external customer relationships
  9. Performs analysis of customer systems such as battery capacity testing and power production analysis using existing methods/software
  10. Compiles and analyzes complex test results, formulates conclusions, and makes appropriate recommendations and decisions
  11. Performs one or more supervisory responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned


Job Skills Requirements

  • Strong ability to convey an understanding verbally and in writing of technical concepts and issues to non-technical personnel internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and manage less experienced engineering support personnel
  • Expert knowledge of electrical backup equipment as relates to the area of responsibility (I edited this one directly)
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of batteries and related products/equipment
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location


Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum five years of professional engineering experience required
  • Five years of professional experience working closely with non-technical personnel in a technical environment
  • Prior Supervisory experience preferred
