Job DescriptionReporting to the Clinical Information Systems Training Manager, the Clinical Information Systems Training Supervisor will champion and contribute to the creation of best-in-class learning opportunities and operational programs that build capabilities and knowledge for all providers and staff using Epic Systems applications and related technologies to further the missions of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
The Clinical Information Systems Training Supervisor will be responsible for managing trainers, managing projects, supervising daily activities of Epic users, development and delivery of all Epic training curriculum, environments, and classes for all Epic systems. This position will require establishing strong collaborative partnerships with business leaders and subject matter experts to assess performance needs and provide feedback to enhance organization performance. Interacts professionally, effectively, and collaboratively with leadership, faculty, peers and staff.
Responsibilities- Manages daily operations of training team including staffing development, oversight of principal and credentialed trainers, and communicating upcoming deadlines.
- In partnership with the Training Manager, build strategic development and ongoing coordination of the training and super user programs.
- Oversees the development, maintenance, and standardization of educational materials including Manuals, Education Updates, Tip Sheets, other documents, and other methods of communication/materials needed.
- Collaborates on program scheduling including development of overall training schedule.
- Effectively coordinates the transition from solution definition to training delivery.
- Provides ongoing communication with Organizational Leadership regarding training issues and requirements.
- Responsible for coordinating with both the application and technical teams to align training programs with the build and testing of ongoing Epic projects.
- Provides system analysis and technical design of the Learning Management Software (LMS) system in support of all ongoing Epic related training programs.
- Assist with recruitment, development, mentorship, of assigned principal trainers, focusing on training effectiveness and optimization.
- Conducts performance improvement meetings with principal trainers to review performance, productivity, and alignment with department objectives.
- Participates in all aspects of Health IT projects, from planning to workflow design to training, in sessions with clients and application analysts.
- Acts as a subject matter expert to ensure training quality and consistency.
- Assists in development and coaching of principal trainers.
- Trains and credentials additional classroom trainers to assist with end-user training.
- Collaborates with cross information technology teams and application owners to troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Maintains policy and procedure documentation.
- Delivers ongoing training.
- Participates in clinic rounds, innovation sprints, and one on one sessions with end users.
- Builds documentation tools for the end user in the electronic health record.
- Creates specialty specific clinical content for ease and efficient end user documentation.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Experience:
- Five [5] years of supervisory experience in a clinical or clinical business experience. OR an equivalent combination of comparable skills, education, training and/or experience.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Information Management or Systems, Health Administration, Arts or Sciences. Comparable experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
- Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
- Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
