Job Title: Supervisor, Business Operations

Division: Pediatrics

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $70,618 - $90,000

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

This position manages the daily business operations of the Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine Division. Working closely with Division Chief, recommending and implementing process improvements to ensure short- and long-term business goals are met. This position is heavily relied upon by Pediatrics Administration for financial activities (e.g., budgets, contracts, grants) and all human resource related activities.

This position is fully in-office during the initial 90 days. After successfully completing this period, employees may shift to a hybrid schedule.

Job Duties

  • Serves as primary business operations support for Division Chief while working closely with other faculty and staff. Oversees daily operations of the Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine Division. (20%)
  • Prepares and monitors the Division's annual budgets for both BCM and TCH. (20%)
    • Oversees and performs monthly reconciliation for Division financial accounts.
    • Manages pre-award and post-award related projects.
  • Oversees the financial activities in S4 Hana, travel requests, reimbursements, purchase orders, and more. (15%)
  • Mentors and supervises three office support staff, directing their work activities and administering goals and performance evaluations. (15%)
  • Collaborates closely with the Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine Fellowship Coordinators on all fellowship-related decisions (currently overseeing the Adolescent Medicine fellowship in the absence of a fellowship coordinator). (10%)
  • Manages the human resource activities related to recruitment, new hires, terminations, salary or FTE changes for faculty and staff. (5%)
  • Assists in the preparation of grant proposals and manuscripts. (5%)
    • Creates IRB protocols and proposals in BRAIN.
  • Implements and ensures compliance with both BCM and TCH policies through clear communication. (5%)
  • Oversees and coordinates special events, manage conference room bookings, arrange travel, and organize faculty calendars. (3%)
  • Creates Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine call schedules and enters them in Qgenda. (2%)
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree.
