About The Position

The Supervising Engineer is responsible for the immediate supervision, training and evaluation of personnel,completion ofplanning studies, anddocumentation ofjob descriptionsrelated tothe optimum development of the Ameren transmission system.Additional duties include providing technical design leadership, managing workloadof internal and consultant staff, justifying and hiring of new employees, compliance with NERC Standards andrepresentingAmerenintereststoshape policy development in theMISO,NERC, andSERCarenas; andoverseeingtransmission planning duties in support of other departments or areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provides technical leadershipfor those performingpower-flow, short-circuit, stability, reliability,economicand facility addition studies of the Ameren transmission system and interconnected transmission systemsin order to determine the optimum size, configuration, and timing of new transmission facilities or upgrades to existingfacilities.

  • Keep abreast of state-of-the-art developments and improvements, and contribute to the personal and professional development needs of the engineers in the group.

  • Builds effective teams; fostering engagement, innovation, and accountability in their work.

  • Plan, schedule, prioritize and coordinate activities to assure that assignments are completed relative to schedules and costs.

  • Represent the company and provide expert testimony as required.

  • Ensure NERC standard compliance. Represent Ameren in NERC audits and on industry committeesas necessary.

  • Provides the leadership for the development of the Principles ofExcellence for TransmissionPlanning including all relevant compliance paperwork.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university required.Electrical Engineeringpreferred.Master's degree preferred.

Sevenor more years ofElectric Utilityexperiencerequired. Five years ofTransmission Planningexperience preferred. Familiarity withtheAmeren transmission system preferred. Familiarity with NERC693Reliability and CIP standards preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Good leadership, management, analytical, communication, and human relations skills required. Flexibility required. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Compensation Range:

$131,900.00 - $204,400.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
