Full Job Description
The Picture Post Supervisor role at StudioPost provides technical leadership, hands-on system support,
and operational partnership across all picture post-production services. This position ensures the
reliability, performance, and evolution of editorial, color, storage, networking, and remote workflows
supporting television and mastering productions. The role is highly collaborative and client-facing,
balancing deep technical expertise with daily operational support for creative talent and production
teams.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining StudioPost's technical standards, enabling efficient
workflows, supporting revenue-generating services, and advancing secure, scalable post-production
infrastructure. The core responsibilities include (but are not limited to) support of 9 color correction
suites, 4 theaters, 9 QC bays, 3 VFX suites, remote dailies stations, file delivery. This position requires
being onsite 5 days a week, and availability to work to weeks as necessary for operational and project
support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Systems & Infrastructure
• Support and maintain all picture post-production systems across Editorial, Color, QC, and Client Services workflows
• Deploy, and support edit and color correction platforms, including Resolve-based environments
• Manage storage systems (StorNext, GPFS) including performance tuning, expansion planning, and data integrity
• Oversee networking infrastructure, routing, firewalls, and security configurations supporting high-bandwidth media workflows
• Build, configure, and maintain workstations, servers, rooms, and system infrastructure, including patching and lifecycle upgrades
Operations & Client Support
• Provide day-to-day engineering support for creative talent, operations teams, and clients
• Support remote and hybrid workflows, including secure streaming and playback platforms for offsite customers
• Act as a technical escalation point for operational and client-facing issues affecting picture services
• Partner closely with Scheduling, Operations, Facilities, and IT stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
Leadership & Planning (Level-Dependent)
• Supervise other Picture Department engineers
• Contribute to capital planning, system roadmap development, and technical standards
• Serve as an inter-department technical liaison, translating creative and operational needs into engineering solutions
• Assist with documentation, workflow standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Union IATSE L700 membership required
• Deep knowledge of picture post-production workflows and environments
• Strong experience with editorial platforms, color systems (including Resolve), and media pipelines
• Hands on experience with computer system builds, including maintenance and administration of Linux (Rocky, CentOS, RedHat) and Windows OS.
• Expertise in networking, firewall management, and secure client connectivity
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise media storage systems (StorNext, GPFS)
• Experience with system builds, room design, calibration, and routing
• Strong experience supporting film pipeline deliverables (scanning, printing)
• Strong troubleshooting skills under production-driven timelines
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with creative clients and leadership
• Significant professional experience in picture post-production engineering environments (10+ years)
• Proven experience supporting high-end editorial and color workflows in a studio or facility setting
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with operational priorities and client service
• Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven production environments
• Highly collaborative and service-oriented mindset

• Willingness to support after-hours or critical production needs when required

Additional Requirements:
• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
This position is represented by Local 700 CBA & the rate for this occupational code is $84.47/hr (Weekly Guarantee).
