Full Job Description
As a Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all construction activities. The superintended ensures that all field personnel are producing quality work, working on schedule, and working within budget. It is also the Superintendent's responsibility to maintain a safe, clean, and well organized environment for Truebeck employees, subcontractor employees, and any other job site visitors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities.
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
  • Create and maintain construction schedule.
  • Identify and take steps to avoid potential problems and solve existing problems.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Manage self-performed duties with Truebeck labor.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employers.
  • Prepare schedules and supervise completion of a final punch list.
  • Any other task or duty assigned or required.

SAFETY

  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
  • Create site logistic plans and maintain an organized, clean job site, including the construction office.
  • Act as a credible and effective safety leader on the jobsite.
  • Promote safety compliant reporting and participation to all individuals on site.
  • Make safety a priority to crew and individuals by providing both positive feedback and implementing timely corrective action as appropriate.
  • Complete all safety training required by Truebeck (OSHA 30, Safety Breakfasts, etc.).

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred, but not required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of construction.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects.
  • Has knowledge and experience with other trades' scope of work

SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

  • Organized with a systematic approach to achieve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and others outside of Truebeck to ensure desired outcome.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent typically works in a construction environment where duties will be performed indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this Job, the incumbent is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other business machines; reach and bend with arms and hands; use eyes to see close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and to adjust focus; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
