Superintendent

As the Superintendent at Steed Industries, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of commercial concrete projects. You will manage all aspects of construction activities, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative work environment and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Manage the day-to-day construction operations, ensuring that all activities align with project specifications and timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor site personnel, including Superintendents, Foremen, and subcontractors, promoting a team-oriented culture focused on high performance and safety.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Safety Management: Champion safety regulations and best practices on-site, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a safe working environment.
  • Site logistics refers to the planning, implementation, and management of the movement of materials, personnel, equipment, and services on a construction site. Effective site logistics is essential for optimizing workflow and minimizing delays.
  • Project sequencing involves the systematic ordering of construction tasks to optimize workflow and resource allocation throughout the project. Proper sequencing ensures that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner, reducing bottlenecks and minimizing delays.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage project schedules, liaising with all parties to ensure projects remain on track and delays are mitigated effectively.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues as they arise.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve construction-related challenges, ensuring that projects run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely procurement of materials and adherence to project standards.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, especially within commercial concrete construction.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
