Superintendent River Valley School District - Blairsville, PAThe River Valley School District is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic educational leader for the position of Superintendent, with an anticipated appointment date of
October 2026. The district serves approximately 1,400 students in grades K-12.
The successful candidate will be a visionary leader who can effectively engage with students, staff, families, and the community while demonstrating a strong commitment to student achievement and well-being. The Superintendent will foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Attributes:- Demonstrated leadership experience with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to motivate, support, and evaluate staff effectively
- Knowledge of current educational trends, best practices, and state/federal regulations
- Experience in strategic planning, curriculum development, and data-driven decision-making
- Record of fiscal responsibility and effective budget management
- Experience in workforce development, including building partnerships with local businesses, industry, and community organizations to support career pathways and student readiness
- Commitment to equity, student success, and community engagement
Requirements:- Pennsylvania Letter of Eligibility (required)
- All required Pennsylvania clearances and certifications, including:
- Act 24 (PDE Arrest/Conviction Report)
- Act 34 (PA State Police Criminal Record Check)
- Act 151 (PA Child Abuse Clearance)
- FBI Fingerprints (dated within one year)
- Act 126 (Mandated Reporter Training Certificate)
Compensation: Salary will be regionally competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and board-established criteria.
