What We're Looking ForThe Superintendent plays a key role in leading Coastal Fire and Integration Systems' onsite presence for the project, overseeing scheduling, safety, quality control, and team supervision. This position focuses on jobsite leadership, compliance, and coordination, partnering with the Project Manager, jobsite Superintendent, subcontractors, and local officials to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within scope. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, detail-oriented, and committed to strong onsite leadership.
What You'll be Doing(But not limited to the following)- Assume Coastal Fire and Integration Systems leadership role for the project
- Manage and ensure proper implementation and compliance with all Coastal Fire and Integration Systems policies and procedures
- Supervise and manage all team members
- Conduct safety meetings and safety inspections, and report any employee not following required safety practices on a job; stay aware of dangers specific to certain tasks and make employees aware of those dangers
- Conduct meetings at the jobsite weekly to cover issues related to the job
- Prepare for and participate in scheduling meetings
- Oversee and implement the Near Term Schedule
- Complete Daily Diary
- Review, approve, and follow up on field orders
- Verify onsite regularly, verify receipt by Thursday noon, finish all outstanding issues by Monday, and approve employee time sheets
- Manage jobsite clean up, security, and the quality control program
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Jobsite Superintendent, other subcontractors onsite, local inspection officials, and Coastal Fire and Integration Systems staff related to the project
- Review the project material/submittal status with the Construction Manager weekly
- Complete billing request forms as needed by the billing department
- Manage project risk to ensure Coastal Fire and Integration Systems' profit goals are met and adhere to the spirit of the contract as agreed to by the Coastal Fire Project Manager
- Maintain red-lines on as-built documents and turn in red-lines at job completion to the Coastal Fire Project Manager
- Keep a current two-week look-ahead posted at all times on the board in the construction office
- Manage critical situations involving employees, such as accidents, and connect employees with the appropriate personnel to resolve the situation
- Manage changes to the layout of equipment in the field, obtain initialed approval from parties with change authority, and immediately return the information to the Project Manager for a cost impact analysis
- Order material required to complete work per scope and ensure it is onsite prior to work starting
Who You Are- Experience:
- Prior experience as a construction Superintendent or in a similar jobsite leadership role
- State Fire Alarm certification (Blue Card) required
- Working knowledge of jobsite scheduling, safety requirements, and quality control processes
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and critical situations in a fast-paced jobsite environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Position ScopeThis position is designed as a leadership-focused Superintendent role responsible for onsite project execution, safety compliance, scheduling, and team supervision. The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and jobsite partners but does not have full ownership of contract negotiation or enterprise-level decision-making responsibilities.
The Superintendent is critical to ensuring safe, on-schedule, and compliant project delivery by maintaining strong jobsite leadership and supporting continuous coordination across the project team.
