At IPS, you'll apply your knowledge, skills and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, building manufacturing facilities for pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health clients.

We're looking for a dynamic Construction Superintendent with an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality to join our Project Delivery and Construction team in Somerset, NJ.

Project Site: Lawrenceville, NJ

You will lead construction site activities, including oversight of trades, and manage parts of the field operations on projects. We'll rely on you for oversite of work progress, subcontractor manpower, and coordination between the trades. Your focus will be ensuring subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely, in compliance with the contract, and on time. You'll also collect and assemble on site testing and inspection reports and develop Construction Completion Records for close-out documentation to the IPS Commissioning/Validation team and client. You'll personally make periodic site inspections and evaluations and report on the results of those inspections.

As a member of a collaborative team, you'll work with leadership to conduct pre-bid walk through and de-scope meetings. You'll provide support in the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans along with schedules. You'll develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions to the project budget throughout execution of the project. As changes are needed, you'll develop change control documentation, including financial. You'll ensure that all submittals meet project requirements and are distributed, reviewed, and stored. Other responsibilities will include constructability reviews, evaluation of vendor and subcontractor invoices, and evaluating requests for payment against actual performance.

As a Superintendent, you'll provide daily reports of site conditions and review job safety analysis documentation. You'll regularly interact with clients on site, listening to their needs, and positively demonstrating the IPS focus on client experience. You'll build strong relationships as you work with client to provide solutions, all while building life impacting facilities.

The salary offered for this role is between $109,000 and $165,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a superintendent role working with various trades on non-residential construction projects
  • Proven experience supervising construction activities on pharmaceutical projects, including clean rooms and laboratories

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Experience working in the mechanical, electrical or plumbing trades
  • Experience on MEP pharmaceutical facilities.

Safety
  • This position will require the individual to be located near assigned client project sites.
  • Overnight travel or staying in the city of Client's location for an extended period of time is likely.
  • You will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules.
