The Opportunity

As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of a project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while managing all the different teams and stakeholders involved. You will engage in job organization and field staff management including scheduling and assigning and monitoring workplace activities with careful attention to safety, cost control, and quality.

As an important contributor on a job site, you may be designated as the lead superintendent on smaller sized projects or as the Lead Superintendent of a particular scope on a larger project, ie: Structure, MEP, Interiors, etc.

What you will do?
  • Project Schedule Creation: Initiate the development of a project schedule, including activities and logical sequencing.
  • Budget Management: Review and understand the project financial information, in conjunction with Project Management.
  • Subcontractor Management: Collaborate in the preparation and updating of the Work Progress Schedule (WPS). Prepare detailed look ahead schedules for near term project planning. Conduct weekly subcontractor schedule meetings. Coordinate the varying scopes of work to expedite the progress of a project. Collaborate with Project Management in developing appropriate subcontract scopes or work and/or bid packages.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to current drawings, plans, and contracted scope of work. Prepare detailed and timely daily reports, including the review of subcontractors' reports to track progress.
  • Administrative Oversight: Assist in the review of submittals and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications. Coordinate and manage change orders, Requests for Information (RFIs), and material submittals effectively.
  • Safety & Compliance Oversight: Develop and execute the Zero Accidents (ZAP) and XMOP plans. Identify non-compliance by subcontractors with safety, health, and environmental quality standards. Monitor the entire project site daily to oversee activities and plan for future needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and project success.

  • Project Management: Proficiency in development and execution of project schedules, aligning all activities to stated project objectives.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinating efforts and performance of project personnel including subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Performance Management: Ability to set and communicate clear expectations to all project personnel and provide feedback and coaching to ensure that work is performed successfully against expectations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Administrative Proficiency Familiarity with reviewing submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and RFIs, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timely resolution of issues.
  • Safety Management: Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and compliance standards and best practices and processes to meet safety requirements and avoid incidents and accidents.
