The Opportunity

The Designer is responsible for developing high-quality, detailed models, drawings, and documentation that support the design and build of mission-critical mechanical and electrical systems'specifically for data center applications. This role produces 2D and 3D design packages, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and engineering schematics that directly support accuracy in manufacturing, fabrication, and installation.

The Designer collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure all design outputs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality expectations.

What you will do?

Design & Modeling
  • Produce detailed working drawings, diagrams, models, and schematics for electrical and mechanical components, assemblies, and control systems.
  • Develop accurate construction documents and extract design data as needed to support production workflows.
  • Create and revise design models to improve manufacturability, quality, and efficiency.
  • Develop prototypes and prepare designs for testing, validation, and implementation.

Project & Production Support
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate design changes and resolve technical challenges.
  • Support the creation of efficient production systems through thoughtful and accurate design improvements.
  • Interpret customer notes, sketches, vendor drawings, cut sheets, and verbal instructions to create detailed design deliverables.
  • Ensure design packages are completed accurately, on time, and within scope.

Problem Solving & Collaboration
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve most design-related challenges.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure alignment on design requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive, solutions-focused work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support department and organizational goals
  • Assist with any additional tasks or assignments required to support mission-critical operations, system reliability, or project delivery.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (required).
  • 5• 7 years of electrical engineering or design work (required).
  • 3• 5 years of controls/PLC programming experience (preferred).
  • 5• 7 years of AutoCAD 2D design experience (required).
  • 1• 3 years of experience with PDM systems such as Autodesk Vault (preferred).
  • Experience in HVAC detailing/design (plus).
  • Experience in production, fabrication, or manufacturing (plus).
  • Hands-on mechanical experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D; Autodesk Inventor 3D experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, wiring diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Autodesk AutoCAD Certification (preferred)
  • Autodesk Inventor Certification (preferred)
  • OSHA 10/30 (plus)
