Black Construction, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Superintendent to join our office in Guam.

DESCRIPTION:

As a Superintendent at Black Construction, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:  Coordinate and manage field operations for assigned projects with a commitment to quality and safe construction processes. This includes managing the use of material and workforce personnel on the jobsite to obtain client satisfaction and company profit.  Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues. 

  • Responsible for inspiring all field personnel to perform at the highest level possible.  

  • Oversees field operations, including supervising and managing personnel and subcontractors.

  • Manages and monitors construction activity to maintain compliance with contract specifications, company quality, and safety standards.

  • Generates requisitions, purchase orders, tool acquisitions, inventory, returns, and equipment rentals.

  • Supervises and monitors the performance of Assistant Superintendents.

  • Interfaces with Project Manager to settle any personnel disputes that may arise.

  • Works cooperatively and proactively to maintain client relations.

  • Monitors schedule with Project Manager and Project Engineers and Project Scheduler, supports all layoffs, assigns daily work activities to field personnel.

  • Reviews and Approves weekly craft timesheets.

  • Prepares, reviews, and initials Daily Construction Reports.

  • Participates in or chairs weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and verifies minutes.

  • Reviews and verifies weekly quantities for the percentage of work in place or completed.

  • Participates in weekly coordination meetings with architect and owners.

  • Leads schedule meetings, weekly coordination meetings, and all safety meetings.

  • Chairs the finish subcontractor coordination meetings.

  • Oversees the maintenance of jobsite security.

  • Coordinates special inspections as required.

  • Coordinates and manages all permits/inspections.

  • Knows thoroughly all active subcontractor agreements.

  • Has detailed knowledge of client expectations with respect to what is contained Ensures company and project specific compliance with safety plan.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eight (8) or more years of construction experience demonstrating successful progression of increasing responsibility.

  • Experience as a superintendent on civil or commercial projects of $20M or more.

  • Reporting experience for WIP, material and labor costs, and change

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with HCSS, Procore and Primavera P6, and MS Excel or similar software.

  • Experience on Federal or municipal projects is preferred.
