Position DescriptionPosition Summary: Plan and execute bridge and highway construction projects; Inspect sites to ensure compliance with specifications and monitor progress; Provide technical advice regarding construction; and Direct construction activities.
Responsibilities: - Coordinate project planning and daily operations in partnership with the Project Manager, providing support as needed to keep work progressing efficiently.
- Oversee the accurate completion and submission of labor and equipment time records, daily reports, and production quantities.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, foremen, and project personnel.
- Take ownership of the project's overall bridge/highway construction schedule and monitor progress against established milestones.
- Track crew performance, production rates, and daily goals, making adjustments as necessary to maintain productivity.
- Review monthly cost information and work with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to address field changes, cost impacts, and applicable subcontractor or vendor back charges.
- Maintain high standards for workmanship and ensure all construction activities comply with company quality requirements and safety procedures.
- Monitor field operations to ensure work is performed according to the project plans, specifications, schedule, and established construction methods.
- Complete and submit weekly production and accountability reports.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contract pay items, measurement requirements, and applicable project specifications.
- Prepare and communicate a three-week look-ahead schedule to the General Superintendent, identifying upcoming activities, manpower needs, materials, and potential constraints.
- Conduct daily crew huddles and stretching activities, as well as weekly Toolbox Talks, to promote communication and reinforce safe work practices.
- Prepare Job Hazard Analyses for upcoming activities and review the requirements and potential hazards with the crew before work begins.
- Work with Foremen to develop effective plans for receiving, storing, moving, and utilizing project materials.
- Recognize potential change orders, additional work, differing site conditions, or other impacts to the original scope and promptly communicate them to the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
- Ensure delivery tickets and receipts are collected, reviewed, and provided to the appropriate field engineering personnel.
- Assist with coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities to maintain continuous and productive operations.

Position RequirementsQualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in civil construction.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing bridge construction operations, including field supervision, scheduling, material coordination, production management, and quality control.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, production requirements, and project scheduling.
- Ability to effectively lead crews and coordinate with project management, subcontractors, clients, and other project personnel.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
