Construction Superintendent

Location: Jackson, MS

We are currently seeking a high-impact Construction Superintendent with strong field leadership experience to lead onsite operations for a Federal project in Jackson, Mississippi. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned field leader to own project execution from startup through closeout while growing into greater responsibility within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all onsite field operations and hold full accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance from startup through closeout.
  • Partner daily with the Project Manager and broader project team to keep work flowing and milestones on track.
  • Build and maintain project execution plans, short-interval schedules, and the overall construction schedule.
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and client stakeholders.
  • Organize and maintain current contract documents, drawings, specifications, submittals, and project records.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and deliveries to maintain a productive, efficient jobsite.
  • Ensure full compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and all company quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and thorough photo documentation of project progress.
  • Review and help resolve onsite RFIs, field conflicts, and construction issues in real time.
  • Manage project startup, commissioning, punch list, and closeout activities, including all required deliverables.
  • Coordinate inspections with building officials and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Champion a safety-first culture and enforce company safety policies and project-specific safety plans.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with owners, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of commercial, industrial, or federal construction experience.
  • Prior experience serving as a Superintendent on technically complex projects.
  • Proven track record delivering commercial, healthcare, institutional, municipal, or government projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, quality control, and field coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Quality Control Manager (QCM) and/or Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with federal project requirements such as EM 385-1-1 and RMS/QCS a plus.
  • Ability to pass background checks and obtain site access credentials as required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Willingness to travel regionally for projects as needed.
